First and foremost, Stephen Grant is a stand
up comedian. And a good one at that. His
on-stage work is highly original and has been finely tuned for the most discerning,
lively, and hardened audiences throughout the country. With a strong emphasis on material
over force of character, all his recent work recorded for television has been very well
received.
Mainly due to his lively demeanour, work rate, and strong
improvisational skills, over half of Stephen's live work is compering. In his home town of
Brighton, this is where he is most famed for it - especially at the Krater comedy club where devoted audiences come so
regularly that Stephen received a sackfull of christmas cards and presents from them in
1999!
Stephen is also a Jongleurs new act and Daily Telegraph
Open Mike Award Semi Final winner, as well as being the 'pick of the fringe' for
the 1999 Brighton Festival's stand up comedy diary.
At the 1999 Brighton festival, Stephen wrote and performed
his first one man show, 2L's and 2N's, which contained no material from his touring set.
In May 2000, Stephen will preview his most recent one man show at the Brighton festival.
A showreel tape of Stephen's stand up work is available
from his agents. For a VHS video tape / DV cartridge of
more up to date work, please contact him directly.
